Heat Trak Snow & Ice Melting Mats- Stair Mat

HeatTrak® Stair Mats are built with non-slip, UV protected rubber.
Stair Mats are designed to endure harsh wear and can be left outside for the entire winter season. The mats plug directly into a properly grounded outdoor GFCI receptacle generating heat to melt snow at a rate of 2" per hour. Stair Mats are manufactured linked together in sets with each set having its own power supply cord.
For details on how many stairs can be connected in one set, refer to Frequently Asked Questions. The mats also have grommet holes in each corner and every three feet of length, depending on the size, to secure them in place.

Instruction Manual-Stair Mat
HeatTrak™ Stair Mats share many of the features and precautions found in the HeatTrak™ Walkway Mats. A review of the Instruction Manual for Walkway Mats would be useful before reading the following specific Stair Mat instructions.

Installing The Stair Mats

The HeatTrak™ Stair Mats should be installed on stairs only. The cord should be on the side of the Stair Mat closest to the outlet. If the cord is on the opposite side, reverse the direction of the Stair Mats. Lay the HeatTrak™ Stair Mats flat on each step so that the non-slip rubber surface faces up. Ensure that all wires are on the same side of the steps, see below.

Make sure all edges with wires are placed at the end of each step to reduce the possibility of a trip hazard, see below.
Securing The Stair Mats & Wires
The Stair Mats were designed with a series of 3/8" diameter brass grommets along each edge to make securing the mat both simple and effective. It is strongly recommended that the Stair Mats and wires are secured to minimize the potential for tripping. Wire clamps are provided to secure the wires.
